It’s a great choice for fishing and yoga. It’s perfect for carrying extra gear, your dog or kid. It’s an excellent choice for the big heavy rider.

Significant Features

The Thurso Surf Max is a large stable platform. With extra length at 11’6″ and extra width at 34″.

The profile shape of the Max is designed for stability yet decent glide.

The entire deck is covered with comfortable traction deck pad.

Dual bungee systems for carrying gear. The front bungee system is nice and large. There are 15 D-rings to help with storage.

There are 3 grab handles and a paddle holder on the side of the deck.

As with all Thurso Surf paddle boards the construction is on point. It’s strong enough to have a maximum air pressure of 20psi. There are only a few paddle board brands in this price range that can handle the higher air pressure.

Performance

In the water the Thurso Surf Max has plenty of stability. It feels stable even when carrying an extra passenger or gear. And it remains stable when riding in chop or boat wake.

While this is not a fast paddle board it glides well for it’s 34″ width. It never bogs down.

For it’s size it handles and maneuvers well.

The hallmarks of the Thurso Surf Max are it’s stability and large deck. The entire deck is covered with traction deck pad. It remains stable in choppy water and when loaded with extra weight. It glides well for it’s size. It’s not fast but it’s not a slug either.
