What I Like about the Sea Eagle FS126
Looking for a fishing sup I had to check out the Sea Eagle FS126. I was already familiar with Sea Eagle. I enjoyed the glide of the Sea Eagle Neeedlenose 14′ and eventually ended up buying one for myself.
So I knew all about Sea Eagle and their paddle boards.
Sea Eagle has been making inflatable watercraft since 1968. So they understand a thing or two about what makes a good inflatable.
The Sea Eagle Fish SUP is a very stable fishing platform. It is nice and long at 12’6″ and very wide at 40″. So the large deck has plenty of room.
A feature that stands out is the removable motor mount. You can add a trolling motor!
This is actually a smart feature. With a 40″ width the Sea Eagle was not built for long distance paddling. With a trolling motor you can get around the lake quicker and with a lot less effort.
There are package upgrades that includes an electric trolling motor and battery, a swivel seat with two universal Scotty rod holders and a kayak paddle.
You can even add two swivel seats and go fishing with a friend!
What I Don’t Like about the Sea Eagle FS126
The Sea Eagle FishSUP 126 is outstanding fishing sup. It’s the perfect fishing paddle board for many people who love it.
But for me it paddles too slow. I like long distance paddling.
With a 40″ width and the shape of a slice of pizza the Sea Eagle FishSUP is not built for easy glide or long distance paddling.
That extra width is what makes the FS126 so stable. And you want plenty of stability in a fishing paddle board.
Plus you can get a motor and eliminate most of your paddling! So for many fisherman, maybe most, the Sea Eagle FS126 is a great choice.
Still I like to paddle. I paddle long and far. So for me, I will fish off a more narrow paddle board and sacrifice stability. To each his own
