Blackfin is the premium line of iRocker Paddle Boards. So Blackfin models have extra features on top of the already very good iRocker SUP boards. iRocker is owned and operated by real paddleboarders.
Many Outstanding Features
Blackfin X is made with triple layers of composite high-quality pvc. The rails are layered with carbon making the Blackfin not only more durable but stiffer.
There are two large bungee systems, tail and nose. The tail system is larger than most other paddle board tail systems.
There are a total of 20 D-rings for storage. And there are 8 action mounts for a GoPro, fishing accessories, speakers, etc. That is more D-ring and action mounts than most paddle boards.
A SUP Fishing Wizard
Blackfin has taken advantage of the stable 35″ width by adding unique fishing features. There are fishing rack attachment points on the deck. There are sandspear anchor attachment points on the rail. The deck pad is nice and large. The Blackfin X makes a great fishing platform.
Another feature I really like are the side safety handles on the nose ans tail. These are grab handles when taking a child for a ride. The Blackfin X is a great family fun paddleboard.
All three fins are removable and use a flip lock system. So if you remove the side fins you will improve tracking and glide.
The accessory package is top notch. The carry/backpack is comfortable, well-constructed and has wheels. The hand pump is duel chamber triple-action.
The travel paddle has a full carbon shaft and only weighs 28oz.
Performance
The Blackfin X was designed for stability. The extreme stability makes it great for fishing and yoga. It is easy for beginners to learn and paddle on their very first session.
For it’s wide size the Blackfin X maneuvers well. And for it’s width the glide is decent. But 35″ is a wide paddle board and it does paddle on the slower side. This SUP was not designed for speed or long distance.
With the wide deck and 450lb weight capacity you can easily take a child or dog for ride. And small kids will like the safety grab handles on the nose and tail when riding.
The Blackfin X is a great paddle board for fishing and yoga. It’s great for beginners. And it’s a great paddle board for slow leisurely cruising and family fun.
